In July 2018, on short notice due to the non-compliance of a competitor’s vessel, the SVS Guardsman was mobilised to Tema, Ghana from Lome, Togo having changed out several crew members from the recent project in the Ivory Coast in order to comply with Ghanaian cabotage requirement for indigenous manning.
The project role was in support to a new client’s seismic acquisition activities and included providing board and lodging for the client’s Security Team Leader, 2x Fisheries Liaison Officers and 2x Marine Police Officers.
Familiarity and compliance with local content requirements meant the SVS Guardsman was able to swiftly deploy in support of the client’s requirements in order to avert any time delays and cost implications to the marine spread.
During the project positive feedback was received from the Charterer with particular emphasis on the excellent fuel economy of the vessel while out in the field.
The SVS Guardsman is a 33M Damen Axebow, a proven and efficient design, suited to the rigours of offshore operations and capable of fulfilling a number of roles in addition to her designation as a Fast Crew Supply (FCS) Vessel. The vessel has a maximum speed of 23 knots, overnight accommodation for 5 passengers and has 75m2 of deck space capable of transporting 20T of cargo.
