The FSIV (Fast Support Intervention Vessel) SVS Hawkins has recently embarked on a charter in Guinea-Bissau to provide vital support to new client APUS Energy’s offshore drilling program.
The SVS Hawkins will provide a maritime perimeter for the highly advanced drillship OCEAN BLACKRHINO.
As offshore drilling operations become increasingly complex and technologically demanding, the SVS Hawkins will play a pivotal role in the smooth and efficient execution of the drilling activities. The vessel is designed to offer rapid support services, including the transportation of personnel, critical supplies, and equipment between the shore base and the drillship.
Its operational speed, versatility, and intervention capabilities make it an ideal partner for supporting a high-stakes drilling operation like APUS Energy’s program in Guinea-Bissau.
The SVS Hawkins will be operating out of the Charterer’s supply base in Ziguinchor, Senegal, which serves as one of the logistical hubs for the operation. From this location, the vessel will provide ongoing logistical support to the OCEAN BLACKRHINO drillship, located offshore in Guinea-Bissau's waters.
The strategic positioning of the supply base in Ziguinchor ensures a reliable and consistent supply chain to maintain the smooth flow of operations.
The drilling program aims to explore and potentially develop oil and gas reserves in the region, contributing to the economic growth of Guinea-Bissau's energy sector. APUS Energy’s commitment to safety, efficiency, and environmental stewardship aligns with the capabilities of both the SVS Hawkins and OCEAN BLACKRHINO, ensuring that the project progresses according to the highest industry standards.
The commencement of the new charter involving the SVS Hawkins in support of APUS Energy’s drilling operations with the OCEAN BLACKRHINO marks a significant development in West Africa's energy landscape. Operating from the well-positioned Ziguinchor supply base, the SVS Hawkins will provide essential services that ensure the smooth and safe execution of the offshore drilling program in Guinea-Bissau. This partnership is set to contribute meaningfully to the exploration and production of oil and gas resources in the region, further cementing the role of fast support vessels in modern offshore energy operations.
